Hiking as a Family August 8 - 9, 2009

We had the best time this past weekend. Our family went hiking.... Not really far - just up American Fork Canyon. First Jon and I took Karly and Kassidy hiking up to Upper Silver Lake - GORGEOUS VIEW!! The weather was perfect - temperature ranged between 50-60 degrees. We also thought it would be fun to stop by Cascade Springs. It had been at least 6 years since we had gone up there - Kass was a baby! Next we decided to try to hike up to Emerald Lake at the top of Mt Timp. I think it was a little too much for little Kassidy, we never made it all the way up - but boy did we go far. We were clear up in the glaciers - in fact, Kassidy got to slide down them with Karly. I am guessing we were up farther then 9,000 feet. INTENSE - and BREATH-TAKING... Kassidy did a great job - so did Kayla and Karly.. If it was up to them - we would have kept going. The truth is - it just got to be too much for Kassidy and we were approaching the most difficult of the hike. I would have to say that this past weekend was one of the funnest of my life!! Thanks to my awesome husband - he is definitely the BOMB~~
